In the First canto, Fifth chapter of Srimad Bhagavatam, we find that Srila Narada muni advises Srila Vyasadeva to compose transcendental literature which is not only attractive but can also bring liberation from all kinds of bondage. Narada muni glorifies that Srila Vyasadeva is perfectly qualified to perform this service because of the following qualities he possesses as described in Srimad Bhagavatam 1.5.13:
atho mahaa-bhaaga bhavaan amogha-drk
shuci-shravaah satya-rato dhrta-vratah
urukramasyaakhila-bandha-muktaye
samaadhinaanusmara tad-viceshtitam
"O Vyasadeva, your vision is completely perfect. Your good fame is spotless. You are firm in vow and situated in truthfulness. And thus you can think of the pastimes of the Lord in trance for the liberation of the people in general from all material bondage."

To think about the subject matter of the transcendental Lord we need to qualify ourselves. The next question that automatically comes is "What are those qualifications?". This is very nicely explained by Srila Narada muni in his advice to Srila Vyasadeva to write on Srimad Bhagavatam.

Srimad Bhagavatam has to be spoken by the right person and heard by the right person. We can understand this importance from the following shloka SB 1.3.44:
tatra kirtayato vipraa / viprarsher bhuri-tejasah
aham caadhyagamam tatra / nivishtas tad-anugrahaat
so ‘ham vah shraavayishyaami / yathaadheetam yathaa-mati
"O learned brahmanas, when Sukadeva Gosvami recited Bhagavatam there [in the presence of Emperor Parikshit], I heard him with rapt attention, and thus, by his mercy, I learned the Bha gavatam from that great and powerful sage. Now I shall try to make you hear the very same thing as I learned it from him and as I have realized it."
