These items are easily available and by offering these things one can get His blessings to enter into His Kingdom. And from the scriptures we hear that the Lord has great liking for Tulasi leaves and He is very much pleased if we offer tulasi leaves to Him.

We came across a very nice past time of the Lord and wanted to share this with all of you. On one occasion, Narada went to Lord Narayana. In the course of their conversation, Narayana asked Narada, "You move around the three worlds, what news have you brought for Me from your wanderings? Have you seen anything great in My creation?" "What can be greater than You in the three worlds!" replied Narada. On hearing this, Narayana said, "I am asking you about My creation and not about Myself."

“One should try to keep himself satisfied in any condition of life—whether distress or happiness—which is offered by the supreme will. A person who endures in this way is able to cross over the darkness of nescience very easily.”

Few months back my younger daughter Mahika was in hospital for Malaria treatment. It was the third day in the hospital and doctors were still struggling to find out the exact malaria strain to confirm the necessary medicines. Fever had gone high. Paracetamol and icepacks were the only material solutions at that time on which we were relying. We were very sad and morose due to the slow effect of the measures taken by the doctors. Our beloved god brother HG Govardhan Prabhuji visited the hospital and after initial greetings, first thing he asked me was why Krishna’s photograph is not in the room? Have you recited Narsimha Kavacha? I had no alternative but to look down at my toes. He recited the Narasimha Kavacha there with us and also we chanted few rounds of Japa. That was the eye opener. I immediately rushed home, brought the Prabhupada chanting box, a copy of Bhagavad Gita and a photograph of Krishna. The fever was down within 2 hours and from that day onwards there was no fever. Doctors found the stain on next day morning and started routine dose of quinine. Mahika was fit to leave hospital in next 2 days time. When I shared my experience with HG Devakinandan Prabhuji, his first comment was “This is the power of the association of devotees”.

To think about the subject matter of the transcendental Lord we need to qualify ourselves. The next question that automatically comes is "What are those qualifications?". This is very nicely explained by Srila Narada muni in his advice to Srila Vyasadeva to write on Srimad Bhagavatam.

The world becoming more and more competitive these days, we find  people are not willing to teach others or share the knowledge gained by them. But this is completely opposite in case of spiritual world. There devotees are always eager to tell what they know about the Lord to others and whenever they are questioned by others on topics concerning the Lord, they are surcharged with enthusiasm and they energetically speak about the Lord. In Srimad Bhagvatam Cano 2 Chapter 5 verse 9,  Lord Brahma thanks Narada Muni when he inquires to him about the glories of the Lord.

The Real Potency of Mahaprasadam [granthraj]

Whenever Maharajas or Sadhus visit our place the whole atmosphere is surcharged with spirituality. Normally after offering prasada to such mahatmas it is a common scene among devotees to run for mahaprasadam. Everyone tries to grab the plate and swallow the entire blessings. While we may do this, often there is a tendency to get too superficial about the whole concept of Mahaprasadam and eat it without understanding the real power of Mahaprasadam.

In SB 1.5.25 Srila Naradji says,

ucchishta-lepan anumodito dvijaih
sakrt sma bhunje tad-apaasta-kilbishah
evam pravrttasya vishuddha-cetasas
tad-dharma evaatma-rucih prajaayate

"Once only, by their permission, I took the remnants of their food, and by so doing all my sins were at once eradicated. Thus being engaged, I became purified in heart, and at that time the very nature of the transcendentalist became attractive to me."

Few days back HG Sarvamangala Mathaji had written a nice mail stressing the importance of leading a simple life. As Srila Prabhupada insisted if we follow simple living and high thinking we would be able to realise and  work towards the goal of our life – Lord Sri Krishna. On the other hand if we lead a complex life style devoid of Krishna consciousness, we keep running behind so many things and struggle a lot to acquire them and later continue the struggle more to maintain them.
